Elizabeth tower and Big Ben at night

London photo spots

Probably the best Photo locations in London

These London photo spots are some of my preferred locations in London to take pictures. While there are tons of places where you can take great photos these are my personal favourites. Buckingham Palace, St Paul’s Cathedral, Trafalgar Square, The Mall, London’s Eye, The London Tower, Sky Garden. Some of the other important London symbols include Wellington arch, Albert Hall, Hyde Park, British Museum, and others.

St Pauls Cathedral

Short photo session in London

St Pauls Cathedral is one of the most iconic buildings in London. You can take beautiful pictures near the cathedral or on the opposite side of the Thames river, near the Millennium bridge.

Trafalgar Square

On of the busiest and most important public squares. One of the largest public places in the UK. A lot of celebrations take place here. You can take beautiful photos near the National Gallery or beautiful fountains.

The Mall

The Main street for royal ceremonies and parades like Changing of the Queen’s guard’s. It is short (1 km) but very important road between the Trafalgar Square and the Buckingham palace linking the two.

From the Mall you can take beautiful pictures near the Admiralty Arch.

Buckingham Palace

The Royal residence of Her Majesty the Queen.

Tower Bridge

One of the important symbols of London. Located on the Thames river near the Tower of London. You can take great photos along the Thames river or near the girl with a dolphin fountain.

Sky Garden

The highest public park in London. Located on the 36th floor of the so called “WalkieTalkie” building. The admission to this place is free, you just need to book it in advance.

London’s Eye

One of the most famous symbols of London is the London Eye. Don’t forget to snap a couple of shots near this beautiful Ferris wheel.

Big Ben

Big Ben (together with Elizabeth tower) is a great photo location, but obviously when it’s not under construction. Unfortunately, there are restoration works at the moment (until 2021), which makes this location not so attractive any more. But when it is free from all the scaffolding Big Ben looks just gorgeous.

The Palace of Westminster

The Palace of Westminster is the beautiful building with the Elizabeth Tower (and Big Ben). If you take some time to walk to the other side of the building, you’ll find yourself in a small park which is the perfect photo spot for beautiful pictures.

Kensington Palace

The royal residence where Princess Diana lived. Now it is official residence of Prince William and Kate, as well as other members of royal family. Kensington palace is a beautiful palace surrounded by gardens. The admission to the gardens is free.

Westminster Abbey

Beautiful gothic Royal Church. Westminster abbey has been a coronation church since 1066. The royal weddings of Princess Elizabeth and her husband Philip took place in this Church, as well as the wedding of Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton.
