Move Closer to improve your photography

In many cases your composition can be improved by simply moving closer to the subject. As you move closer, the relationship between the foreground and the background changes. Your subject will look bigger in your screen. Also, isolated subjects produce excellent images.

  • Moving closer to your subject makes the image stronger and removes all the distracting elements.
  • Take a shot of your subject than move in closer to take another shot. If you can’t get close enough use your zoom.

Final thoughts

Combine moving closer to your subject with other elements of composition such as using a plain background and filling the frame. The full list of composition techniques can be found here.
